Further Information
The XK140 is the rarest and most sought after model of the Jaguar XK range. It combines the stylish coachwork of the XK120 with the technically more advanced chassis set up of the later XK150. These more refined XK140's have rack and pinion steering, which results in more precise steering and a much more comfortable driving position. Only 2789 examples of the XK140 Drophead Coupé were build, so it is quite a rare car as well.
This particular example was subject to a full nut and bolt restoration to the highest of standards between 1998 and 1999 by Jaguar Specialists Twyford Moors Classic Cars Ltd, and still looks in great condition today. Painted in British Racing Green the quality is excellent with the interior beautifully trimmed in contrasting Biscuit hide bucket seats and the green mohair hood fits perfectly along with the walnut veneer dash complimented by the Moto Lita steering wheel. During the restoration the vehicle has had lots of enhancements fitted such as, bucket seats, spax shock absorbers, anti-roll bar, electronic ignition, spot lamps, upgraded alternator, disc brakes, seat belts, radio/CD player, battery isolator, bonnet straps, the original 4-speed gearbox been upgraded to a 5 speed, and now shifts and drives well. The car sits on beautiful wire wheels painted green to match the car beautifully, and fitted with Avon Radial tyres.
It's a car which ticks all the right boxes : matching numbers, rare drophead version and a gorgeous colour combination. A test drive will only confirm the quality of this beautiful Jaguar.
